Ninja FOODi reviews Dominican Style Chicken Stew
NINJA FOODi pressure cooker air fryer does a great job with this Dominican inspired stew chicken recipe.

1st I used The sautee feature to brown the chicken on the bottom. Then I used the air fryer to crisp the top of the chicken and sausages.

Sorting and air frying help to build the flavor of the dish before we pressure cook the chicken

I add in my tomatoes and tomato sauce and chicken broth then pressure cook the whole thing and it makes a delicious stewed chicken.

This is not the traditional Dominican stewed chicken. I used ingredients I already had at home to make a dish inspired by a Dominican stewed chicken dish I had at a restaurant several years ago.

1 whole chicken cut into serving pieces
1 onion, sliced
1 red bell pepper, sliced
1 green bell pepper, sliced
1 tablespoon of Goya Adobo or Sazon or seasoned salt
2 tablespoons canola or vegetable oil
4 spicy sausages
4 Roma tomatoes, chopped
1/2 cup tomato sauce
1 cup chicken broth
Cooked rice to serve
Marinate the chicken with the sliced onions, peppers, Adobo or Sazon (or seasoned salt) and oil for up to 8 hours (you can cook it right away if you don’t have time but marinating helps the flavors sink in)

Turn the pressure cooker on to saute and let it get hot. Add the chicken and all the marinade ingredients into the pan and let it brown on the bottom.
Add in the sausages then close the air fryer lid and let it air fry for 15 minutes at 400 degrees. Air frying will brown and crisp the top part of the chicken and sausages.

{{If you have a regular pressure cooker or Instant Pot then just use the saute setting and turn the chicken and sausages to let each piece brown on all sides. This should take about 15 minutes}}

Open the lid and add the chopped tomatoes, tomato sauce, and chicken broth then close the pressure cooker lid and pressure cook on HI for 15 minutes.

Serve the chicken and the delicious broth over steamed rice. This recipe will feed 4 to 6 people.

Can the Ninja Foodi replace my instant pot and my Power Air Fryer with just one appliance? Leave me a comment and let me know if you want me to pick one up and do some demonstrations with it.
