Brazilian Beef Stroganoff Recipe!
cool cool. this was a recipe passed down by our Brazilian maid when my family used to live there! it’s an all time favorite in my household, seriously never gets old and i made this video for my brother for his church cooking showcase!
definitely adjust what you need to taste!
Ingredients:
+ ~ 2 cups beef (diced or strips) or chicken (strips)
+ 2 medium onions (finely chopped)
+ 3 tbsp butter
+ a pinch of pepper
+ splash of red cooking wine
+ 1 package of mushroom (sliced)
+ 3 tbsp tomato paste
+ 2 tbsp ketchup
+ 1 tbsp yellow mustard
+ 1 small package (200-250ml) heavy or light cream
+ salt to taste
Procedure:
1. Melt butter in saucepan.
2. Saute beef in saucepan until about half cooked.
3. Add onion and continue to saute for about a minute.
4. Add tomato paste, ketchup, mustard, and cooking wine. Saute for another minute then put lid on and simmer for 2 to 3 minutes.
5. If it’s too dry, add a small splash of water.
6. Add mushroom and lid while simmering for another 2 to 3 minutes or until cooked.
7. Add cream and let it cook for 1 minute or until hot and be careful not to let it boil.
8. Add salt to taste. (also adjust tomato paste, ketchup, and mustard in proportion according to taste!)
9. Serve on white rice with shoe string potatoes (potato sticks).
